A Visit to the City of World's Tallest Building

We decided to head for Dubai for a short break last week. We were honoured to be the guests of Emil & family, a good buddy of mine during my A-Level years. It was purely a leisure holiday. We did not plan to go to every single interesting place. It would be a very tiring holiday if we indeed went to every single possible place in Dubai.. We wanted a break from work, that was all...

It was the 1st time we went out from Doha after almost 9 months here.. Huh, time flies..

The only place that we really wanted to visit was Ski Dubai where we managed to introduce snow to Alisha. She was excited. It was freezing in the Snow Park. Temperature was -4 Celcius!! It was just amazing to see how they created a ski slope adjacent to a shopping mall. The feeling was real though..hehe.

We did not miss to get close & personal with Burj Al Arab, the only 7* hotel on earth. We could only admire the World's Tallest Building from far as it was still in progress. Once completed, it would stand at almost double the height of the tallest twin towers in the world, PETRONAS Twin Towers. Amazing...

It brought back the memory of my 1st business trip to Dubai way back in 1998. I was impressed with the green scenery. It was then... You can just imagine what happen after 10 years of development and oil price hovering around USD100 per barrel... The whole city is now like a tropical country, less the rain...
